After the war, and the armies started having reunions, pins and badges were given out to surviving veterans who were able to attend these reunions. For the surviving Confederate soldiers, these reunions were held in different southern cities throughout the south each year. In 1922 when the reunion was held in Richmond VA, these iron trivets were given to the ladies who were able to attend. What I would give to have been able to attend one of these reunions. The stories those soldiers could have told.
